Grant and Technical Writing Gene St.Godard of the Water & Natural Resource Group has prepared several grant applications on behalf of the CCT to fund continuing water resource planning efforts. For example, a $238,000 was submitted to CBFWA through NWPPC funds to conduct water rights investigations to determine hydraulic continuity to salmon bearing creeks, prioritizing these water rights, and determining which rights should be placed in a trust account for salmon recovery and instream flows. Gene developed, prepared and submitted this grant proposal on behalf of the CCT. Gene also assisted with the development of a grant application through the same program to develop a Water Strategy Planning Unit throughout the Okanogan Basin.
Mr. St.Godard has also assisted several local entities in preparing grant applications for water resource and water quality evaluations. Gene prepared and submitted the Phase I Watershed Planning Grant for WRIA 34 on behalf of the Palouse Conservation District. The $50,000 grant funding was secured for initiation of Watershed Planning in October 2002. In addition, Gene also secured a $306,000 grant through the Washington State Centennial Grant Program in 2001 for the Adams Conservation District. This grant was secured to conduct a water quality study for fecal coliform throughout Adams County.
Gene has also submitted funding applications through the Salmon Recovery Board. One application included a fracture flow hydrogeologic investigation within a subbasin of the Okanogan River to determine hydraulic continuity of fracture flow aquifers to salmon bearing creeks. This grant application was submitted for $212,970. Gene has also assisted local entities to prepare such grant applications as conducting a Sustainable Flow Hydrology (instream flow) Analysis on Omak Creek, Evaluating Phosphorous Loading in Sprague Lake, and requesting funds for Installation of flow, water temperature and climate monitoring stations on the western portion of Colville Reservation.
Gene St.Godard assists his clients with evaluating and prioritizing studies which will be suitable for funding through many different funding agencies. Our experience in preparing grant applications can assist our clients with potentially securing additional funds to complete the required studies for their water resource management programs. |
